North Conway Music Center Re-Opens Grandly!

THE FRYEBURG FREE PRESS

New Home of the North Conway Music Shop,
Now known as North Conway Music Center!

North Conway Music Shop has grown up! This valley favorite has been rechristened North Conway Music Center in recognition of its expanded offerings in the new 4,000 square foot facility. My son Mitch Corthell and I visited the new shop this morning. As we entered the new showroom we were greeted warmly by the owner Brian Charles. Mitch, lead singer and gutarist for the local band, Wasting Youth went right over to the large selection of acoustic-electric guitars - found a shiny, all black Washburn and started playing.

The main floor houses a very large (I mean very large!) variety of new and used musical instruments, a dedicated try-out room, expanded repair and rental facilities, thousands of music accessories and gifts and concert space. The second floor has been converted to beautifully outfitted, sound-proof lesson, recording and ensemble facilities featuring an acoustic piano, drum kit, electronic keyboards, a dedicated private entrance and bathroom.

On the way out we spoke to John manning the register. We talked about the new about the size of the new store compared to the old but especially about the convenience of the location. I like it because it's right next to Dunkin Donuts too!

North Conway Music Center is also the home of Charles Double Reed Company, a 30 year old oboe and bassoon specialty company recognized as one of the leaders in its field. Founded in New York City by owner Brian Charles, it has been located in Mount Washington Valley since 1994 and provides instruments, handmade reeds, and professional repair services to professional double reed musicians worldwide through its catalog and website.

Make sure you visit their web site and say hello. Also, congratulate Brain and his dedicated staff on Face Book!
