Mountain Garden Club Holiday Boutique.
 The Mountain Garden Club's Annual Holiday Boutique "Deck the Halls" will be held at the North Conway Community Center next to Schouler Park in North Conway Village. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the boutique lasts until everything is gone. It usually sells out by 11:30 a.m., so come early! As always, the "halls" will be decked with a selection of seasonal decorations, ornaments and holiday gifts, all made by the Mountain Garden Club members. There will be decorated indoor holiday greens baskets, boxwood trees and centerpieces with candles, fragrant paperwhite narcissus and dramatic amaryllis, food for our feathered and furry friends and for you as well. Several new items will be featured this year — fairy houses for indoors or out and hand-painted wooden sleighs, sleds and candles with greens decorations.

Volunteer Thanks And Sign-Up. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation will be hosting a volunteer thank you party at the Shovel Handle, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed for trail work, patrolling, race day organizing and base lodge support. Sewing Club Silver Tea. The Jackson Women's Sewing Club's Silver Tea and Holiday Boutique will take place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Whitney Center. This annual event offers a festive gathering place for friends and neighbors and provides a scholarship for a local student who is college bound.

Wintry Jazz Concert. Back by popular request are two top-notch jazz musicians, pianist Tom Snow and saxophonist Mike Sakash, performing on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at a private home in Jackson. This year's concert is titled "Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Advance ticket purchase is essential, at $35 per person, by contacting Mountain Top Music at 447-4737. Ossipee Holiday Celebration. The Ossipee Recreation Department celebrates the holidays with two events today at the Ossipee Town Hall, located on Main Street in Center Ossipee. The day will start off with the annual Breakfast With Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $3 per child which includes a kuight breakfast with Santa, a photo taken with Santa, and the opportunity to make an ornament to take home. The day will end with the Community Christmas Celebration, 5-8 p.m. This event features a potluck dinner with food from several restaurants in Ossipee, live music featuring Beverly Woods and Seth Austen, door prizes, and horsedrawn hayrides. There is no cost but patrons are asked to bring a dessert item to share.

Snowmobile Safety Course. Ossipee Recreation will sponsor a snowmobile safety course for ages 12-16, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Ossipee Public Library. There is no cost but enrollment is limited to a maximum of 20. Register by Dec. 3 by calling 539-1307 or emailing ossrec@gmail.com. The class includes instruction on proper operation and care of a snow machine, appropriate clothing, survival skills, and other topics relating to the safe operation of a snowmobile. Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication. Mount Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity will hold a new home dedication for the Christy Berry family at 483 Menotomy Road in Fryeburg (2.3 miles north of Route 302 and about 1.5 miles east of Fryeburg Center). The schedule is: 4:15 p.m., caroling at Tamworth Congregational Church with David Nystedt at the piano, and a solo by Reb Pugh; 4:30-4:40 p.m., the Remick Farm wagon drives up Main Street; 4:45 p.m. Santa and Elves arrive by fire truck, followed by Town Tree Lighting (sponsored by the Tamworth Outing Club), with refreshments upstairs at Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of the Eastern Slope (an elevator is available). Published in 1937, it tells the tragic story of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers, who move from place to place in search of new job opportunities during the Great Depression. A Cappella Gold. The Friends of the Jackson Public Library host A Cappella Gold at 4 p.m. at the Jackson Public Library. A variety of Christmas music will be presented including familiar Christmas songs, and old English carols, along with some contemporary selections, both sacred and secular, from reverent to rockin'. There will also be chances to sing along with a few familiar Christmas carols to get you in the mood for the season. A Cappella Gold is a newly formed nine-member group, whose have sung together in different groups in the Mount Washington Valley over the last several years. Organized by Susan Brinker to develop a program of Christmas music, the group plans to expand their repertoire into other areas in the near future. This program is free and open to the public.

Worldwide Candle Lighting. The Compassionate Friends of Mount Washington Valley will be participating in the annual Worldwide Candle Lighting service at 7 p.m. in the Madison Baptist Church. Candles will glow when tens of thousands of bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents, relatives, and friends around the globe will join together to light remembrance candles to honor the memories of children who have died, but will never be forgotten.This year the group try to Live Stream the service of readings, music, and reading of children's names, followed by light refreshments with the following:

Children's Christmas Shopping. The Josiah Bartlett Elementary Cafeteria will be transformed into a gigantic shopping area in which children will be helped by our older elves, to select gifts for Moms, Dads and family members at 3 p.m. All items are $1.50 each. Eco-Forum. Paul DegliAngeli, Public Works director, will discuss Conway's ongoing efforts to save money, increase energy efficiency, and promote green practices. A White Mountain Christmas. 
White Mountain Musical Arts presents A White Christmas with guest soloist, Ray Cornils, municipal organist, Portland, Maine, on the Moeller Organ will be held at 7 p.m. at First Church of Christ, Congregational, North Conway. Conway Contra Dance. The Conway Contra Dance series continues tonight in the hall at Tin Mountain on Bald Hill Road in Albany. Ganem Art Exhibit Opening. Christian Anthony Ganem, local artist, musician and roastmaster/magaer of GoodVibes Certified Organic Roasters, will present his first solo art exhibit today at the Framed Art Superstore. Ganem uses the sacks that his coffee beans arrive in for roasting, turning them into a canvas, to which he then applies paint enhancing original markings and stenciling original designs. GoodVibes will provide the fruits of the roaster's labors and there will be plenty to nosh on as well. Exhibited original pieces will be for sale and Ganem will discuss commissioned work.

Mountain Garden Club Holiday Boutique. The Mountain Garden Club's Annual Holiday Boutique "Deck the Halls" will be held at the North Conway Community Center next to Schouler Park in North Conway Village. The doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the boutique lasts until everything is gone. It usually sells out by 11:30 a.m., so come early! As always, the "halls" will be decked with a selection of seasonal decorations, ornaments and holiday gifts, all made by the Mountain Garden Club members. There will be decorated indoor holiday greens baskets, boxwood trees and centerpieces with candles, fragrant paperwhite narcissus and dramatic amaryllis, food for our feathered and furry friends and for you as well. Ossipee Holiday Celebration. The Ossipee Recreation Department celebrates the holidays with two events today at the Ossipee Town Hall, located on Main Street in Center Ossipee. The day will start off with the annual Breakfast With Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $3 per child which includes a kuight breakfast with Santa, a photo taken with Santa, and the opportunity to make an ornament to take home. The day will end with the Community Christmas Celebration, 5-8 p.m. This event features a potluck dinner with food from several restaurants in Ossipee, live music featuring Beverly Woods and Seth Austen, door prizes, and horsedrawn hayrides. There is no cost but patrons are asked to bring a dessert item to share.

Snowmobile Safety Course. Ossipee Recreation will sponsor a snowmobile safety course for ages 12-16, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Ossipee Public Library.
