Ongoing Calendar of Events: Greater CONWAY - FRYEBURG





SUNDAYS

White Mountain Art Exhibit. The Museum of White Mountain Art at Jackson presents its inaugural exhibition "The Road to Jackson: a Journey through the White Mountains of New Hampshire." The exhibition features 44 nineteenth century paintings of artists of the White Mountain School of Art from private collections. The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and other days by chance or appointment. The museum is in Jackson's historic Town Hall, which also houses exhibits illustrating the history of Jackson.

Dinner Bell South. The Dinner Bell South offers a free meal and fellowship at 5 p.m. at St. Andrews in the Valley Episcopal Church in Tamworth. All are welcome to this community meal. For more information call 323-8515. 


TUESDAYS

Mineral Springs Cafe. The Mineral Springs Cafe, the student run kitchen and dining room at Kennett High School in North Conway is open from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information call Richard Mattei at 356-4370 Ext. 3107.

Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings in Carroll County. Every Tuesday, Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the Conway Methodist Church Hall on Main Street in Conway Village from 11 a.m. to noon; at the Gibson Center in North Conway from 8 to 9 p.m.; and in the activities room at Mountain View Nursing Home, 10 County Farm Road, in Ossipee (enter through the main entrance)from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Alcoholic's Anonymous Women's Step Meeting. An Alcoholic's Anonymous Women's Step Meeting takes place on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 857 Main Street (Route 5), in Fryeburg, Maine.

Al-Anon. Every Tuesday, Fryeburg Al-Anon meets for friends and families of alcoholics, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street, Fryeburg. Newcomers welcome.


MONDAYS

Alcoholics Anonymous. Every Monday, Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the Conway Methodist Church Hall on Main Street in Conway Village from noon to 1 p.m., the Women's group meets at First Church of Christ, North Conway, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and at the Gibson Center in North Conway from 8 to 9 p.m.

Conway Dinner Bell. A full-course home-cooked community dinner is served every Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Church in Conway Village. The dinner is open to all. To volunteer or for more information call 447-8407 or e-mailmcpond1@hotmail.com.


FRIDAYS


Story Time For Little Ones. Madison Library Story Time for Little Ones is held Fridays at 10 a.m. in the children’s room at Madison Library. Call 367-8545 for more information.

Conway Community Men's Bible Study and Breakfast.Every Friday the Conway Village Congregational Church ("The Brown Church") has a Men's Bible Study Program and Breakfast. It will be open to all men of the community who are hungry for food and spiritual knowledge. Each session will begin at 8 a.m., giving everyone time to get on the road and attend to their schedules for the day. For more information, contact Pete Klomp at (603) 662-5535


THURSDAYS

Center Conway Farmers' Market. The Center Conway farmers' market is every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Country Hearth and Home. The farmers' market is looking for new vendors.

Zen Buddhist Meditation Group. Zen Buddhist Meditation Group meets on Thursays at 4:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Eastern Slopes on the corner of Main Street and Route 113 in Tamworth Village. Each session starts with a 30 minute sitting (chair or cushion) meditation, followed by a talk on meditation topics with time for questions/discussion. All are welcome. Madison Historical Society Meeting. The Madison Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. at the Madison Historical Society Museum, 19 East Madison Road in Madison on the third Thursday of the month, from May through October. All are welcome. This is a free event.
