Roomful of Blues!

For over 41 years Roomful of Blues has been pleasing crowds around the world. Even though Roomful of Blues’ lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world, filling dance floors and theaters with fans! Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. The Metropolitan Opera Live in HD Presents: Parsifal

Jonas Kaufmann stars in the title role of the innocent who finds wisdom in François Girard's new vision for Wagner's final masterpiece. His fellow Wagnerian luminaries include Katarina Dalayman as the mysterious Kundry, Peter Mattei as the ailing Amfortas, Evgeny Nikitin as the wicked Klingsor, and René Pape as the noble knight Gurnemanz. Daniele Gatti conducts.   The lunch being served by Lake Region Caterers includes:

Fryeburg Academy One-Act Competition Team Performance

Join us as we enjoy the dress rehearsal of Noel Coward’s Private Lives. Our competition team will be taking their performance to the regional competition this weekend and we think this is a great way to send them off! We will start the evening with some of our student films from the Fryeburg Academy Film Workshop.

Peter Yarrow Concert

We are very excited to bring you an evening of wonderful music with Peter Yarrow!  We're sure you all know this American singer who found fame with the 1960s folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. We probably don't need to say much more!  This will be an evening of songs from Peter that you will most likely want to sing along with!  Visit his website or check out some videos on You Tube.

Fryeburg Academy Jazz Cabaret - Instrumentals

Fryeburg Academy's own talented students take the stage for an evening of fabulous jazz! Tonight you will enjoy the instrumental jazz combos and big band. These students have been working very hard to prepare for their competition season. Some of them have already competed at the Berklee High School Jazz Festival earlier this month.  All of them have their State competition later this week, and what better way to send them off! Save the date next month for the Vocal Jazz Cabaret, Tuesday, April 3, featuring not only our FA Vocal Jazz and Eklectic Jazz Choirs, but also the Vocal Jazz Choir from USM featuring many FA Alumni!

The Metropolitan Opera Live in HD Presents: Francesca da Rimini

Zandonai's compelling opera, inspired by an episode from Dante's Inferno, returns in the Met's ravishingly beautiful production, last seen in 1986. Dramatic soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek and tenor Marcello Giordani are the doomed lovers. Marco Armiliato conducts. The lunch being served by Lake Region Caterers includes:

Purple Rock Puppets Presents: Ecological Logic

FREE PERFORMANCE!
This is the story of a man who litters, throwing his garbage into the ocean. He falls asleep on the beach and dreams that the ocean turns to plastic and all of the garbage he has thrown in comes to life! When he awakens, he sees a sea turtle swallow a plastic bag that he threw away. He jumps in to save the turtle. Once the sea turtle swims away, the man starts to drown but the sea turtle comes and saves him!
Due to a generous donation from Poland Spring and a grants from the Maine Community Foundation and The Gibson/Woodbury Foundation, there is no charge for this wonderful production!  We do recommend that you reserve your free tickets early by contacting the Box Office or clicking on the below button.

Fryeburg Academy Jazz Cabaret - Vocals

Fryeburg Academy's own talented students take the stage for an evening of fabulous jazz! Tonight you will enjoy the vocal jazz choirs of Fryeburg Academy as well as USM. These students have been working very hard to prepare for their competition season. Some of them competed earlier this spring at the Berklee High School Jazz Festival.  Their state competition is later this week, and what better way to send them off!  Hopefully you were here for the night of instrumental combos on March 13!

Tomorrow’s weather forecast calls for clear skies, drizzle, sleet, and snow! You can hear different kinds of weather in music – plucking violin strings might make you think of gentle rain while the deep sounds of the double bass may conjure up a thunderstorm! Did you know a composer named Vivaldi wrote music that sounds like the weather? Join the PSO string quintet as they demonstrate how different kinds of weather can be recreated in music.  Tickets purchased for the original date (2/8/13) will be honored for this date

Roderick Russell Hypnotist!

Give yourself a break from the mud-season blues and support a good cause at the same time! Roderick Russell is bringing his award-winning and hilarious stage hypnosis show to Fryeburg in support of the Sophomore Class of Fryeburg Academy! The show is appropriate for families. On-stage participants are strictly volunteer (don’t worry, Roderick won’t force you on stage! He’ll only suggest it…). Come and watch the show, or be part of it and create memories to last a lifetime! Tickets available at the door the night of the show. Juggler and Comedian Brent McCoy

Fryeburg Academy's band and chorus members take the stage once more in an evening to showcase their hard work throughout the school year! This is a wonderful evening that showcases so many of our talented students. Many of our senior fine arts students are given awards on this evening, thanking them for their hard work while here at Fryeburg Academy.

Join us for a truly exciting evening highlighting our talented students. Show starts at 7pm as our performers arrive by limo and exotic cars to walk down the red carpet so bring your cameras! This is an award show fashioned after Hollywood’s own Academy Awards, with a talented Master of Ceremonies from our own Academy faculty! The evening will be full of comedy, great student films, live music, surprise guests and closes with a rock concert by the new Punkapalooza!

White Mountain Musical Arts Presents: The Seacoast Wind Ensemble

Brought to us each year by White Mountain Musical Arts, we are happy to be joined again by The Seacoast Wind Ensemble. In the style of a Sousa Band, The Seacoast Wind Ensemble will be honoring area Veterans and providing a musical salute to thank those that served in the armed forces to preserve our nation and insure our freedom.
As always, there is no charge for this concert, but donations are appreciated!
